Please be kindly advised that on Wednesday 22nd of May 2024, the Lacanian Psychoanalyst Petros Patounas, will be presenting the seminar with the title “Méconnaissance and its relation to desire”.

Méconnaissance, is when the Subject ‘miscognise’ its desire with the Other’s jouissance. When one walks in the path which is not in line with his/her own truth, the body feels heavy, it suffers, but for some reason we think that this is how it should be. No, it’s not, this is a misunderstanding. Wherever επιθυμία is, reconnaissance is, or even better a ‘faire connaissance’ [a ‘get to know’, meet, a ‘get acquainted with’] with this new body. It’s a new rencontre, a fresh connaissance [a fresh encounter].
