Anxiety in the Body: When the Body Speaks the Real

This seminar will explore the relationship between anxiety, the body, and the Real from a Lacanian perspective. We will consider how the body can become the site where something beyond words makes itself felt, and what anxiety might reveal when the body speaks where the subject cannot yet speak.

Mira Patouna is a Lacanian psychoanalyst and the first Lacanian psychoanalyst in Serbia. Her psychoanalytic journey began with her own analysis, where she encountered, for the first time, her own voice and the unsaid. This encounter became the foundation of her clinical practice and her ongoing engagement with psychoanalytic theory and research. Her work continues to be guided by questions concerning the unconscious, the return of the repressed, and what emerges at the limits of what can be said.
